You don't need to worry about losing any data when you are working on a live calendar!
ProCal automatically generates Versions of your document and saves a copy as you work. Here's how to view them:
Contents
-
Restore a Previous Version (aka replace your Live calendar with a past version)
View Past Versions
1) In the quick access panel on the right, click on the clock and arrow icon - the Versions menu
2) Select the automated backup from the list to view it in Read-Only mode
You can see the list of any automated versions or backups that have been generated for your calendar during this or any past sessions.
This selected version will be in the ‘Read Only’ mode and you will see this indication at the bottom of the screen. This will also have a link to take you back to the ‘Live calendar’.
In the Read Only mode, you can see what the calendar was at that point of time, but you cannot start editing or add content.
Click on the back arrow next to the title to go back to the live calendar and make and changes or edits if needed.
Rename Past Versions
You can name versions to make it more organized for your reference.
-
In case you want to ensure that you remember the current version, or
-
if a version was at some other stage and you need to know about it in your project
You can just click the three dots next to the version name, select Name this Version, then give it a new name.
Restore this Version
You can replace the current live calendar with an older version of the calendar and make edits and changes as needed.
We recommend this method only if something happened to the live calendar or if it is out-of-date or incorrect and this older version is the one that you know to be the latest and most correct version.
To do so, click the three dots next to the version name, then choose "Restore this Version".
Make a Copy
In case you want to use an older version of the calendar to make adjustments or experiment but do not want to lose your current version of the calendar, you can make a copy.
Click the three dots next to the name of the version and choose "Make a Copy".
Alternatively, you can also "Make a Copy" by clicking on the "Save As" symbol on the top Menu.
Type a New Name and click the "Save As" button.
This indicates that a New Calendar is being created based on the back up version of the calendar (shown) that you are currently looking at.
In short, Versions is a very smart way to help you look up as many copies of your current calendar that are auto-generated during the various stages or dates of your work.
